I like my
life.
I like a lot of different
aspects of it.
The facets keep it
interesting.
I like filming.
I like my filming friends
and the things we do
and the fun we have.
We are a jolly bunch of
human beings, I'd say.
I like doing projects.
I won't lie,
I feel really badass
carrying around one of
those huge cameras.
I think people
automatically respect you
that much more.
And yes,
we got sweaty,
because it was crazy hot outside.
And yes,
we got a lot of repetitive footage.
But,
we got some great footage,
and seemed to have a lovely,
if not delusional, time.
I enjoy watching the student section
and the band and colorguard.
I can't film football
because I never know what's going on,
but that's ok.
Because there are boys in the world to do that.
I like being part of a team.
We all work well together
and have a swell time.
And of course,
because everything in my life
somehow circles back to a boy
(teenage girl-ness be damned),
I like your hands,
they hold a camera very well.
I like your giggle you get sometimes,
and your voice on the phone
when I call you and ask where you are,
and when we hang up you say
"Bye Audrey" in about the cutest
phone voice ever.
But really, it probably isn't cute to anyone but me,
but you can all stuff it.
I like that at this time last year
I was at a football game
and made myself ill over some vague detail
of you, yet this year I am going to a football game with you.
We filmed and sometimes talked
and I didn't make myself sick.
I love how our group is.
We're like, fantastic.
It's so great.
(no other words can describe it so concisely)
How we do our job,
and then flop ourselves about the room
and decompress and talk about
good places to sleep.
It was such an arbitrary conversation,
but I totally loved it.
Tonight was superb.
In a different way than most Friday nights.
I mean, most others are spent with my steadfast, kick-ass
best friends ever.
And those are all excellent Fridays.
But this one was different,
but still totally radical.
But now I'm tired,
because the new cameras are heavier than
the old ones were, and lack in shoulder straps.
And we were in the heat for a long time.
So I'm going to sleep.
Goodnight and adieu and sleep tight all of you.
