And then,
Per usual,
Safari "quit unexpectedly".
(Seriously, why does this always happen!?)
And I lost all of the pretty things I said about birds and snow.
I'm disappointed, really.
And I cannot recall the phrasing and things that I used
To make it lovely.
"Avis" is bird in Latin.
We get aviary and things like that from 'avis'.
I bet you did not know that.
Now you do, so you can use that knowledge to impress upon people
Your intelligence.
And the snow,
How it's so wonderful when it just snows
Those little fine flakes and they swirl about everywhere,
And you look up
To see only dark sky and bright snow,
All encompassed by the orange glow of a streetlamp.
I find that color oddly soothing.
It's a protector, I think.
And I am quite enthralled with things.
Very much so.
And then I remember,
Oh, there are things to be done.
So many things.
And yet, here I am.
Doing nothing that matters.
I'm curious,
Oh silly boy.
What do you think of me?
I don't know what you think of me,
And I wonder.
I really do.
(I shouldn't care, but I do.)
You always make fun of me in that weird way you do,
And I just can't help but wonder what your impression of me is.
I love you in the middle of the night.
"Everybody loves each other these days."
(Good song- Take Off Your Sunglasses)
Why do we long for the improbable?
The 97% impossible?
Why does the soul hunger for petty things,
Things so unrealistic that you question
Why you ever thought of it to begin with.
Why ever did I think of you?
In such a context?
What possessed my mind to squeak
"He's cute. And funny. And I like him. A lot."
I make myself somewhat crazy
Thinking as I do.
So many silly notions.
So many of them.
But you see,
You are not reachable in these aspects.
I've come to learn
That I must placate my feelings.
Tune them down and just harness them.
And that's ok,
That's alright.
I just wonder,
Could things ever change?
Would things want to change?
I'm pretty sure the universe is usually against this sort of thing.
(Obviously.)
Goodnight and adieu.
I love you.
